Author's Notes: I wanted to do a fic like this because there aren't a lot of them. yes, there are fics where Serena and Darien are in high school, but it's not realistic. There are always the same plots - the new kid, the ugly duckling turned swan, the geek and the popular athlete, the bitter enemies turned lovers, etc. I want a story without all the exaggeration. Where bizarre things cease from happening - where there is no divine intervention.

Summary: Alternate Universe. Serena and Darien have been seeing each other for four years, lived together for three, and are not married. To Serena, her world is perfect except for the minor annoyances like her mother's badgering about getting a real job, having children and getting married, the probing of the company therapist that she's forced to see, and the attempted seductions of her modeling ex-boyfriend. When life finally takes it toll it sends Serena running in the opposite direction away from her problems and the only man who can fix them. It's the first time, Serena realizes that her life isn't so perfect after all.

Author's Notes: This is not necessarily an 'original' idea. I was inspired while reading a series written by E. Lynn Harris. He created a world for his gay characters and I absolutely loved it, but I thought it would be different if some of the situations were applied to a straight couple, especially a couple like Serena and Darien. Now don't get the wrong idea - I took Harris' ideas and tweaked it so that it was no longer his, but mine. I pulled a Shakespeare.

Author's Notes: The summary needs work as you can see. I haven't decided what time period to put this in. I was thinking Futuristic just because I can play it any way I want. My own Crystal Tokyo. Anyway, Darien is prince who gains an interest in her and wants to add her to his "collection." It's a really good story. I just need to figure some stuff out and write in the right way. It's also a bit on the dark side.
